Hello! My name is Amy Ritchey and this is my 22nd year in education and my 6th year at Parson Hills. Before arriving at Parson Hills, my career in education took me to several interesting places around the world. I started my teaching adventure in Bakersfield, California. Then I spent six years at the International School of Bangkok, Thailand. Returning to the states, I led a classroom in Houston, Texas, and in 2014 I moved to Northwest Arkansas, taking a position at Shaw Elementary School here in Springdale. It all started back in 2000, when I graduated from Texas A&M University at Kingsville (go Javelinas!) with a degree in elementary education. I continued my education at California State University, focusing on Special Education. In 2018, I earned a Masters in School Leadership from Arkansas State University. I am also proud to be a National Board Certified Teacher. I come from a very large family in Texas. I have five siblings (one brother and four sisters) as well as 17 nieces and nephews and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews. I live in Fayetteville with my husband, Adam, and have an awesome stepson, Jackson, who is currently a junior at the University of Arkansas. We are proud dog owners of a very beautiful and sweet dog named Ziva. In my spare time, I love to be outdoors, working in my yard, and planting flowers. I also love kayaking and birdwatching.
